Toy trains have experienced an explosion in popularity in the past ten years. Much of this was brought on by new as well as long established toy train manufacturers introducing computer technology and all that it offers into the hobby. Did you know that Lionel celebrated it’s 100th year in 2000 and that the hobby of toy trains is the oldest continuing interactive hobby in the U.S.
We have active members who both operate and collect the toy trains of the past 120 years. Some have permanent layouts in their homes that they share with friends, school children and those who show interest in the hobby. Many of our members run their trains on layouts at train shows and at other locations.
After all, “operating” is our middle name!
